Tour de Pink Rolls Through PVAMU Campus

Sunday, September 19th, at Prairie View A&M University- this year participants joined to celebrate the SIXTH ANNIVERSARY. Beginning 2005, PVAMU has made a point to team-up with Tour de Pink bicycle tour to fight the good fight against breats cancer. This year's Tour de Pink bicycle tour was presented by BBVA Compass.
  
     Tour de Pink 2010 is the first bike ride in Texas solely benefiting breast cancer. Routes were available for all levels: 12, 23, 47, 63, 80 and 100 miles!  Participants raised money for Pink Ribbons Project, in motion against breast cancer to fight breast cancer through awareness and education programs and the support of proper screening for the medically underserved funding and outreach initiatives.

      Since it's inception in 2005, Tour de Pink has helped Pink Ribbons Project make a powerful impact within the Greater Houston Community through the efforts of dedicated riders, volunteers, sponsors and all those people who pledge. This year PVAMU had 1,729 participants and 124 teams who have raised more than $164,000 dollars for Pink Ribbons. For more information: TourDePink.org.
